Emails, notifications and activities

Every email the Rx Tracking modules send to people outside the company, and every reminder (Odoo activity) they give to your users. Sent and queued emails are listed in Settings ‣ Technical ‣ Emails (developer mode) and in the chatter of the record they belong to.

What every email needs
- An outgoing mail server. Odoo Online and Odoo.sh have one; on your own server, set it up in Settings ‣ Technical ‣ Outgoing Mail Servers. See Odoo's documentation on email communication.
- The recipient's email address on the contact.
- For your own users: their Notification choice in Preferences (the user menu at the top right): Handle by Emails or Handle in Odoo.
- Emails are written in English whatever the recipient's language: the modules ship no translations.
- Most emails are queued and leave with Odoo's Mail: Email Queue Manager job. Until then they are Outgoing in Settings ‣ Technical ‣ Emails.

- For an owner delivery of DSCSA products, Odoo's own delivery confirmation is never sent: the owner email above replaces it.
- Nothing is emailed to FDA, state authorities or trading partners by the modules. Trace request answers, Form FDA 3911 data and FDA annual reports leave Odoo by your own means.
- The three 3PL email templates are in Settings ‣ Technical ‣ Email Templates (search
DSCSA). An edited template is kept when the modules are updated.
Reminders (activities) for your users
Each reminder is an Odoo activity on a record. Assigning it to another user sends Odoo's "… assigned to you" notification, by email or in Odoo as that user prefers; the email's subject is "RECORD: SUMMARY" assigned to you. How to work them: Work the DSCSA activities in your to-do list.

- The activity types are in Settings ‣ Technical ‣ Activity Types (developer mode). Who receives them can be changed for two of them: Choose who receives the DSCSA reminder activities.
- The Barcode add-ons (Rx Tracking (DSCSA) - Barcode and its 3PL bridge) send no email and make no activity of their own.
